AWS CloudFront is Amazon’s content delivery service that provides high speed data transfers with low latency and no minimum usage commitments.
Now, AWS has made CloudFront even faster to use by adding support for GZip compression. Once enabled, it will compress text and binary content at the edge and will return it when explicitly requested for.
Overall, this will speed up page loading and content download, and may even lower your CloudFront data transfer charges. Overall, your payload reduction can be up to 80%!
To enable this feature, go to your CloudFront Console, find your distribution, look under Behavior options,and enable Compress Objects Automatically. You can find more information on this feature here and more on how to use CloudFront in the video below.
