AWS is happy to announce that it has increased its capacity for its two services: AWS Storage Gateway virtual and gateway-stored volumes.
Gateway VTL’s max capacity for virtual tapes in a single VTL is now at 1 full Petabyte. This is seven times that of its previous 150TB max storage.
Gateway-stored volumes on the other hand now have a max storage capacity of 512 Terabytes, more than 1.5 times. The storage for gateway-cached volumes is unchanged.
These changes now apply to existing gateways via software update. For new gateways, you may download an updated AWS Storage Gateway VM image from AWS Management Console. As always you can contact our PolarSeven cloud consultants to help you set up your AWS Storage Gateway.
