S3 Delete Notification
Since it was launched in 2006, AWS Simple Storage Service (S3) continuous to provide increasingly better service to its users. In 2014, the service launched its notification model, where users were sent updates when objects were created through certain commands.
Now, notifications will include deleting objects from your S3 bucket. It will still deliver these notifications through an SMS queue or SNS topic, or they may even trigger a Lambda function. For example, you can have the function update any tracking lists you have on your S3 objects.
New Amazon CloudWatch Metrics
In line with the current S3 updates, Amazon CloudWatch has also released enhancements to their metrics. Now, you can monitor and create alarms in CloudWatch for your S3 usage. CloudWatch will include metrics for total bytes consumed for Standard and Redundancy Storage as well as total number of objects, on a per bucket basis.
