Amazon Aurora, AWS’s MySQL-compatible relational database engine, is as simple and cost-effective to use as any open-source database, yet still matches the speed and power of any commercial one.
As one’s databases grow, security becomes even more of a priority. To that end, AWS has made it easier to encrypt data stored in Aurora.
Known as “encryption at rest”, this feature lets you choose either an AWS or customer-managed key from the AWS Key Management System. The encryption is then applied to data, backups, logs, replicas, snapshots, and any data in transit.
