With over four million Australians accessing legal help via Lawpath each year, 230,000 regular users and revenue doubling annually, Lawpath’s position in the market is undeniably strong. They have recently raised $7.5 million in an oversubscribed funding round and are well on the way to democratising access to legal advice in Australia.

This impressive growth was demanding increased developer input (Lawpath were wanting to double their existing dev team) and greater scalability in capacity and output. Growth needed to happen, but it had to be in a way that maintained site security and compliance. Without the skills to properly architect an AWS environment, complete the migration and deal with security at scale, Lawpath were being held-back from optimal operational levels. Enter PolarSeven.

PolarSeven engaged their p7-SecurityFoundation service to migrate Lawpath to a secure, multi-account AWS environment with Single Sign-On. Once the new environment was configured, existing resources were migrated into the appropriate accounts in the new landing zone. Infrastructure as Code using Sceptre on top of CloudFormation was used to ensure deployments from one environment to the next, with zero downtime.

Lawpath developers were able to adopt the new processes rapidly with significant improvements to the reliability of their continuous deployment.
